Flexion Distraction
Flexion distraction is a well-established and documented solution for treating low-back pain, and many types of spinal disk disorders.
In our clinic we use motorized flexion distraction techniques coupled with manual manipulation of the spine.
In this method of treatment, the patient is placed in a comfortable face down position, and the spine is then rhythmically flexed in a way that gently stretches the vertebra of the lower spine. This repetitive flexion produces a pumping-suction effect which, in many cases, tends to reduce bulging or herniated disks.
The repetitive mechanical flexion also allows for manual manipulation to be applied to the spine at the same time — with the effect that both the traction and the manipulation coincide with and enhance each other, in a way that neither can do when applied separately.
